Ministries

We at Redeemer envision a Spirit-empowered, prayerfully dependent, worshiping community being equipped and mobilized to generously love our families, neighbors, city and nations with the Gospel and to facilitate the multiplication of churches. To that end, we engage in the following ministries:

Christian Education - Similar to Sunday School, our Christian Education classes begin at 9:15 am on Sunday mornings in the Educational Building. We offer separate classes for K4 through adults and a nursery for infants and toddlers.

Sunday Morning Worship - Our service starts at 10:30 am, offering a blend of traditional and contemporary hymns and praise songs with practical, Biblical teaching.

Children’s Church - During our Sunday morning worship service, we offer children’s church for kids ages 4-7. The kids participate in the congregational singing, and they are called to children’s church just before the sermon starts.

Community Groups - Outside of our Sunday morning worship, community groups are our biggest ministry to the body of Christ. Community groups are also a great way to get plugged into the life of Redeemer because these groups are where the church becomes a family. Community groups are small groups of 10-20 folks that meet in someone’s home weekly or biweekly. Each community group has its own mix of members, visitors, fellowship, Bible study, food, singing, prayer, and childcare.

Missions - We firmly believe in supporting international and local missions in order to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. Redeemer supports many international, full-time missionaries serving in countries all over the globe. We also support full-time missionaries here in the U.S.--some even here in Charleston! We support local ministries that reach out to the poor and needy in downtown Charleston. Redeemer also sends out and supports short-term missionaries to minister in other countries for a few weeks or months at a time.

Men's Ministry - Men have important roles within the church, and the Men's Ministry helps the men of Redeemer be what God has called them to be in all areas of ministry.

Women In the Church (WIC) - Women have a high calling and unique opportunities for ministry within the church. WIC gives women avenues to use their gifts to the glory of God and for the building up of his body. WIC offers opportunities for service within the church body through the Compassion committee, for growth and learning through Bible studies led by women for women, and for fellowship through special events and retreats.

Nursery - Our precious, covenant children are a blessing to our church family. We offer a nursery for children up to four years of age. Our nursery offering is seen as ministry to the parents in our congregation and to the children themselves.
